A new year with hopes of more RVing

To all our friends and blog readers a Happy New Year!  At the time of writing this we are getting more windblown snow and it has warmed up to -14C/6.8F from -19C/2.2F a couple of days ago. Because our truck was too dirty and encrusted with ice and salt it was left outside instead of being parked in the garage.  Benno had to turn the RAM around on the driveway to face the 120 Volt outlets to be able to plug the engine-block heater cable in.

Boxing day resulted into a big box from Best Buy (free shipping) for our Jayco White Hawk trailer. I guess there will be a write-up by Benno coming very soon how he spent a day with the furnace inside of the trailer going full blast installing the newest gadget.
It is just too cold to venture out with the wind blowing a steady 30+ km/h to take pictures.  I tried a couple of days ago taking both dogs across the street to the lake to snap a quick picture. We were only gone 10 minutes and although the dogs and I were bundled up it took us half an hour to defrost when we came home.

Upon closer inspection of my photo I noticed the stray cat that has been roaming our area. I didn’t notice her when I took the picture.

If we don't get totally snowed in or are too frozen to defrost the computer, we'll keep you updated soon.

  1. Hopefully you will be on the road soon so that you won't freeze.

    It's about time.

  3. Benno's post is in the works. He's waiting for an optical cable. The temps in the travel trailer are -14C and outside it is -13C. Don't laugh!
