This is it

Everything is packed, even Benno’s shaver. Last winter we were in a bit of haste packing our belongings and I somehow missed to transfer his electric shaver into the trailer. Benno had to resort to a blade shaver and after his trim he needed a nurse with a first aid kit :-)
Tomorrow we will drain our house hot water tank, drain the water plumbing and shut off the water supply at the street. The heating system will be lowered to 50F/10C and then we will be off.
Next stop will be the Canadian USA border at the Ambassador Bridge at the Detroit River.

We’ve been monitoring the weather, but it seems we have to take whatever we’ll be getting.  The temps have been up and down here.  Last week we had freezing rain, which was very pretty to look at in the tree branches but not so pretty if you had to drive to anywhere.

Then we had a little bit of a snow melt with above temps and again freezing nights.  Well, it is still February so we should not complain but making long distance travel plans is difficult.
Tonight the forecast is calling for a bit of snow, which was not in the prediction two days ago. Bummer.
Wish us well and hope we make it as far south on our first day to reach some milder weather.

Next update hopefully somewhere nice.
