Gorgeous surroundings and our pictures are piling up. First up: Parker Canyon Lake

Where are we now?
K&N RV Park, Huachuca City, AZ

With so many photo opportunities in this area we’ve been out and about to see the sites and I’m going to start posting now.

If you want a feast for the eyes taking you through the Canelo Hills in southwestern Cochise County, then the trip to Parker Canyon Lake I can highly recommend.  It is not very far from our RV Park and approx. 28 miles southwest of Sierra Vista around the Huachuca Mountains and only 5 miles north of the Mexican border.

The Parker Canyon Lake was our destination, but the drive is the highlight in our opinion.  We drove west on Highway 82 to the Upper Elgin Road, through the village of Elgin Winery and then took a shortcut into Highway 83 south. The views from the elevated and winding roads were breathtaking. I tried to capture some of it on my photos but I think you have to experience the drive yourselves to appreciate this wonderful scenery. This was one of the very best scenic drives in our life and on route we saw numerous deer and there are antelopes in the mountains. Apparently there is good fishing in the lake.

There is good hiking in this park

Wishing everyone a happy Valentines Day and thank you for checking out my blog. Look for my next update of our trips in the area.

    1. Thanks George, I looked at the map and its about the same distance as Patagonia Lake where we went and we'd passed through Sonoita already. Will see if we can go and see the ranch.

    1. In Arizona there is something for everyone, I think. Lots to see here in the area where we have been before, but some sites are worth seeing again.
