How do you celebrate a wiener dog’s birthday? Today Reggy turned one year old. He is such a
sweet little fellow who has matured nicely since he and Elsa, (who has her 1st
birthday on January 6, 2017), came into our lives last March. Of course he doesn’t know it’s his birthday
but we thought it might be nice to spoil our two little doxies each with a
warmed up, extra juicy wiener hot dog. Those were actually sausages from the
German deli that we saved for this occasion. Then a walk in the park and some
rest on the sofa, such is a dog’s life!
Earlier in the day we made another trip into town. Benno had the “Northern Tools“ hardware and
tool store on his agenda and so we tagged along. Here too, I noticed a stream
of guys being swallowed up from the entrance door of “Northern Tools” like a
Pilgrimage to Mecca so to speak. There are always other retailers around those
stores that I find more interesting than mechanical things to pass the time and
if there is nothing else to look at, I take the dogs for a walk. So today I got my share of looking at outdoor
merchandise at the “Gander Mountain” store and the dogs had their exercise
around the parking lot. The next stop
was at the “Pet Smart” store for some dog food, then onto Walmart to purchase a
carpet. The RV site we occupy is under a tree and there are lots of leaves on
the ground, which we keep bringing into the trailer in addition to sand from
the road. For that reason we thought we
needed to lay an outdoor carpet next to our trailer to help in keeping our
shoes and the dogs paws clean. There will still be leaves tumbling on it, but
at least we will be able to sweep them off. We’ll see how that will work
out. Maybe we just created more work.
The days seem to go by quickly here and I haven’t started to
sit down with a book and to relax yet.
Perhaps I will tomorrow….
Good to see you still out there. An inspiration to us poor souls still doing the 9 till 5. Just moved up to a 42 Catalina. Hoping to head south in about 6 years. Colin, Windsor
ReplyDeleteCollin the Catalina 42 is an excellent choice for cruising and we bet you can hardly wait to take her south. Maybe we can see her next summer?
DeleteAll the best.
The first trip with any new trailer always has a lot of adjusting to do. We actually have a Double Shoe Brush you step on meant for cleaning dirt and leaves off your shoes next to our steps but I don't think the dogs would care to use it.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Rick, some RV sites have concrete pads which help however, this park has only grassy areas. Yes, a double shoe brush is a good thing. Maybe in the future...
